Mia's Cake

This was such a fun cake to make! It was five layers of chocolate and vanilla cake. The top layer was the birthday girl's piece. It was chocolate cake with a creamy filling...YUM!! The cake is decorated in vanilla buttercream icing and air brushed green or blue with buttercream leaves and clouds. The flowers and butterflies are made out of fondant!

The best part of this cake, was seeing my niece's face when she saw it...priceless!!!!

Fisherman Cake

A yummy carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Cream cheese frosting is a little hard to decorate with because it melts so quickly!

Honey Bun Cake

This is a deliciously sweet coffee cake!

Boston Cream Pie

Happy Easter!

A carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

Chocolate Cupcakes

I love to make cupcakes. They are so quick and easy and just the perfect size.

I made these lowfat chocolate cupcakes with a very delicious chocolate almond icing!

Harley Davidson

For my brother-in-law's birthday, I made a delicious lemon cake with a lemon curd filling and lemon buttercream icing. It was just a perfect mix of sweet and tart!

I looked for a more creative way to make a motorcycle cake, but the Harley cake pan is discontinued and they are currently asking quite a lot for them on E-bay.

Pink Flowers

I made this cake for my friends baby shower. I wanted something girlie, but not cheesy. So I made a ton of royal icing flowers in a deep mauve and pink. I made a french vanilla cake tinted pink and iced it with a white chocolate cream cheese icing.

Superman

We had a "Super" Party at the Treehouse! I found a great spot for a birthday party at Glenview Baptist Church. They have and incredible treehouse playroom. The kids really enjoyed themselves, and wore themselves out!

Then we partied in the party room! I made a ton of cake! I made a half sheet cake and put the Superman symbol around the sides. The top cake was a detailed Superman.

The party attendants even decorated the table using the plates and napkins!

Welcome Baby!

Our neighbor just had a baby boy, so I thought I'd bake them a cake. I made a 6 inch round cake, added some blue icing, and some iced sugar cookies to spell his name!

Nemo Cake

This was my first big birthday cake to make for my own family!! My oldest son's second birthday. I found these great figures at the Disney store and added some blue icing and lots of blue sprinkles and we were ready for our Nemo party!

Diego Jungle Cake

My oldest son loved Diego as soon as he saw the first cartoon. He decided that he wanted an animal rescuer party. I looked everywhere to find Diego party supplies. They were no where to be found. All I could find was the Diego figure with baby jaguar...so I got a few more random animals and made my own Diego cake

I made a vanilla cake with buttercream frosting.

The monkeys and the palm tree leaves are made from chocolates.

Lightning McQueen

My youngest son loves the movie CARS. So for his second birthday, the theme was obvious...CARS!! Luckily, the paper products were plentiful at all the party stores, but now what kind of cake to make...

I decided to make Lightning McQueen.

This cake is the equivalent to 1/2 sheet cake...it's a good size!

We love snickerdoodle cake in my family, so I made a delicious cinnamon cake with buttercream frosting. The baking was quite simple, but the decorating was another story.
It went rather smoothly, but took a bit longer than I anticipated...2 1/2 hours!

I had so much fun making this cake! And even better the kids and adults loved it!!!

After making my son's cake, I got a request to make the same cake for someone else. The second one was just as fun to make. I made a few changes that I think added to the cake's look. I made the number on the side white instead of orange and on the back I added some details.
